My name is Andrew .My wife and I just lost our apartment due to a fire. The fire started in the apartment next door to us. I just came home and I heard the woman next door cry out my name through the wall.At first I thought she was just giving me a hard time you see we don't get along.Anyway when I spoke to her through the wall she informed me that her apartment was on fire .I immediately ran out of my apartment to hers.I kicked down her door and noticed her sitting in her wheelchair (she has MS.) I proceeded to get her out of the house as I got her out she told me her cat was still in the house.i without thinking went back into the apartment to find her cat. The apartment was so smokey I couldn't find the cat.as soon as I exited from her apartment I heard a small explosion. By that time the whole 5 family house was burning..news channel 8 called me a hero but I don't see that.I saw a fellow human being in trouble and knew she would have perished in the fire if I didn't go and help her get out . I did what anyone would've done . The red Cross put us up in a hotel for the next 4 days but after that were on our own.We have nothing but the clothes we have on.all our credentials are gone.No identification. We don't have any funds to speak of.my wife has congestive heart failure and needs to be in a stable situation..we can't be homeless.we need help asap.we are a loving couple in our 50s with our dog lola.you always see this happen but you never think it would happen to you.
